Bridget Daly - Artist/InstructorFor over 30 years I have been engaged in teaching art techniques and concepts to seniors of all abilities. In 1996 I founded the art program at Providence Mount Saint Vincent in Seattle, WA where I taught for 25 years.
I teach individuals and groups, and I also teach intergenerational classes where seniors and preschool children create together. My teaching methods acknowledge the abilities, interests, and skills of my students. My students sometimes include those with age-related dementia, with Alzheimer Disease and Parkinsons, people who suffer effects of strokes, hearing and vision loss, and brain injury. When I am not finding and developing new projects for students, I am creating my own art; dream-like impossibilities engaging similar techniques of traditional Huichol yarn-painters.
